Financial services is an area in the business ecosystem associated with management of money, value creation, financial assets and property.  A career in the financial services sector is potentially an appealing prospect to those who have keen interest and aptitude to work in the ever-growing sector, characterised by dynamism, digitalisation and constant innovation.

Programme Objective:

The Bachelor of Arts in Financial Services (BAFS) aims at unifying the financial services sector by providing a firm foundation in the world of work in financial management, business analytics and skills of people working in the financial sector, asset and pension management, insurance sector, banking sector and emergent financial services.

A very practical, case study-based approach will be at the core BAFS programme delivery.  The BAFS programme is designed to reflect the changing world of financial services and the digital disruption that comes with it.

OUR ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. DIRECT ENTRY:
  • LGCSE – A Candidate
  • Should have sat for a minimum of six (6) subjects,
  • Must have four credits which include Mathematics and English Language and any other two (2) subjects, plus
  • Passes in any two (2) subjects
  • Admissions Points Score (APS) should not exceed 34.
  • COSC A candidate.
  • Should have sat for a minimum of six (6) subjects,
  • Must have four credits which include Mathematics and English Language and any other two (2) subjects, plus
  • Passes in any two (2) subjects
  • Admissions Points Score (APS) should not exceed 34.
  • INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
  • International students who hold foreign qualifications are advised to submit their transcripts or results slips to Examination Council of Lesotho (ECOL) for evaluation and conversion of their results to the local standards so that CAS can assess them accordingly.

 

  1. INDIRECT ENTRY: A candidate should have
  • A pass or better in Diploma in Business Management or equivalent qualifications from recognised institutions or,
  • IB Diploma with a minimum of six subjects, including three at higher level, and should have achieved a total score of at least 30 out of 45 points or,
  • Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) or,
  • Part qualified CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or equivalent professional q
  1. EXEMPTIONS:
  • Exemptions maybe awarded based on prior learning or qualifications obtained from recognised institutions, for courses equivalent to those in the BAFS programmes, mainly in year 1 and/or year 2 courses.
  1. APPLICATION PERIOD:
  • February to March each year

  • July each year.
