- MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Provide computer and network support for CAS employees and students, though installing, troubleshooting and diagnosing possible hardware and software issues. Ensure CAS computer systems are maintained. |
- DUTIES
1. Job duties and responsibilities
1.1 Install and configuration of various hardware 1.2 Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripherals (routers and printers) 1.3 Check computer hardware (mouses, keyboards etc) to ensure functionality 1.4 Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications 1.5 Develop and maintain local networks in ways to optimise performance 1.6 Install and configure appropriate software and ensure it functions according to specifications 1.7 Ensure security and privacy of networks in ways that optimise performance 1.8 Provide orientation and guidance on how to operate new software and computer equipment 1.9 Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing work 1.10 Perform troubleshooting and diagnose and resolve problems (repais or replace parts, debugging etc) 1.11 Maintain records/logs or repairs and fixes and maintenance schedules 1.12 Keep computer inventory updated; 1.13 Coordinate computer based examinations for all students; 1.14 Assist Lectures with PASTEL mobile class; 1.15 Assist Library with CAS’s students ID’s production;
2. Network and Workstation Administration 2.1 Troubleshooting the computer and network problems; 2.2 Responsible for computer network’s security which involves virus and malicious software prevention and removal; 2.3 .
3. Other duties 3.1 Invigilation
3.2 Any other duties as may be requested by management which are aimed at meeting CAS goals and objectives

- QUALIFICATIONS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma in Information Technology and at least 2 years as an IT technician.
· Proven 1 year experience or more as IT technician or relevant position · Excellent diagnostic problem solving skills · Excellent communication ability · Outstanding organisational and time management skills · Good knowledge of internet security and data security principles
