  1. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

To provide leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of Quality Assurance policies and procedures. To develop and maintain institution wide quality assurance data that aligns with the CAS strategic initiatives.

 

  1. MAIN DUTIES
Quality Assurance

  • To support the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure the development of fit for purpose quality assurance policies and procedure and monitor implementation and effectiveness;
  • Manage administration associated with programme validation and reviews including logistics management, note taking, liaising with the academic and relevant stakeholders;
  • Provide mechanisms for the collection, analysis and dissemination of quality improvement data relating to students and graduates’ experiences of courses and programs, and graduate preparedness for employment;
  • Coordinate and facilitate the collection, processing, and reporting of QA data for the CAS Quality Improvement System that leads to the enhancement of quality improvement processes;
  • Facilitate and coordinate the sharing of QA best practice and supports institution-wide benchmarking against best practice standards in order to continuously improve the delivery of programs and support services;
  • Contribute to the development of the CAS by monitoring programs and identifying areas for improvement; by observing and implementing institution and system-wide policies and procedures; and by participating in extra-curricular activities and community events;
  • To develop schedules of assessments and reviews for various CAS departments;
  • Support the institutional review process and the completion of institutional self-evaluation;
  • Liaise with Council on Higher Education (CHE) for the accreditation and registration processes.
  • Lead “CAS” responsiveness to and compliance with accreditation and statutory bodies requirements;
  • Manage the process of ensuring the accuracy of information received and the communication of same post validation/review process;
  • Act as a point of contact and communication contact with validating bodies as required;
  • Act as desk reviewer for all programme validations and reviews.
  • Conduct development and training sessions for staff on Quality Assurance policies and procedures;
  • Keep an accurate record of all approved programme schedules and dates in which they are due for the next review;
  • Ensure the administration and accurate and appropriate recording and storage of Quality Assurance (QA) records and associated documentation;
  • Work with the Registrar to ensure that that the learners needs are met;
  • To ensure that all reports to CHE, MOET go through quality assurance processes;
  • Coordinate and document the proceedings of the Quality Assurance Committee;
  • Act as the secretary to Quality Assurance committee;
  • Assist with graduation and student registration;
  • Any duties as may be assigned from time to time;

 

  1. QUALIFICATIONS , EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

 

Minimum

Degree in Education Management or Economics or  Statistics or Professional qualification in Finance and Accounting and or related Degree is social sciences plus 3 years working experience in higher education with a focus on Quality assurance;

 

OR

Master’s Degree in Education Management or Economics or Statistics or Professional qualification in Finance and Accounting and or related Master’s Degree is social sciences plus 2 years working experience in higher education with a focus on Quality assurance;

Relevant Experience

  • Understanding of both professional and academic qualifications
  • At least 2 years in a HE environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of higher education policy development and analysis
  • Quantitative analysis skills for data and trend analysis
  • A proven track record of quality assurance issues
  • Knowledge of Lesotho national education system
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and writing
  • Computer Literacy
